In 2012,Thailand and Mexico had a trade worth 2,322.16 million dollars (U.S.) with continued growth each year. During the last three years (2011-2013), the average annual growth of value of trade between Thailand and Mexico is about 25 percent. For Thailand, Mexico is the largest export market in Latin America’s largest. In 2012, Thailand made exports to Mexico market value of $ 1,675.89 million (U.S.) while imports from Mexico Thailand conducted with market value of $ 646.27 million (U.S.) in third place in terms of imports from Latin American countries.
The main export products from Thailand to Mexico are electrical machinery, general machinery, rubber, medical equipment, plastic products, iron and steel products, textiles and clothing, toys and sports equipment, glass and glassware, footwear, automobiles and parts automotive, food processing, etc.
The main products imported fromThailandtoMexicoare: machinery, autos and auto parts, iron and steel, chemicals, electrical machinery, aluminum, copper, cardboard and paper, fish and seafood, pharmaceuticals, etc.
Also the private sectors of Thailand and Mexico have signed two agreements are: Agreement on Cooperation between the Confederation of Chambers of Commerce of Thailand / Board of Trade of Thailand and the Mexican Business Council for Investment Trade and Technology (COMCE) in 1990 And the Agreement of Cooperation between the Confederation of Industry of Thailand / Federation of Thai Industries and the Business Council of Foreign Trade Investment and Technology (COMCE) in 2003. In addition, there have been continuous exchanges of visits of business between private sectors of Thailand and Mexico. The Thai Trade Office inMexico Cityregularly (3 or 4 times a year on average) organizes business trips carrying Mexican executives to attend various trade fairs in Thailand. Moreover, Thai businessmen are also involved in various trade fairs in Mexico, such as parts and auto parts, gifts and decorative items, etc.
